Conical rollers
To prevent the Flat belt from slipping, at least one pulley must be partly tapered.
In general, the Pulleys available are tapered in accordance with ISO 22. The greater the contact angle, the better the guiding effect of the Conveyor Belt.
In practice, based on the total length of the drum, the typical design of a conical roller is three equal parts (conical / cylindrical / conical).
Pulley width
The width of the Pulley should be at least 1.05 to 1.1 times that of the Conveyor Belt. In principle, we recommend that half the width of the conveyor belt corresponds to the tapered part of the rollers.
Roller surface
A clean, smooth steering surface improves the efficiency and durability of Conveyor Belts.
The working surface of the Pulley must not be too smooth or too rough (the surface must not be wrinkled!), as this can lead to excessive wear on the conveyor belt, noise and premature belt failure.
A working surface with a roughness Ra = 1.6μ-3.2μ-6.3μ is recommended.
Length of cylindrical zone bc
bc = bo / 2
Pulley width b
b = bo x 1.1
